Coordinated activities of the Division under the direction of the Vice President for Health Policy. Duties included overseeing major policy initiatives in the areas of aging, obesity prevention, public health infrastructure, prisoner reentry, maternal health, and drug use; engaging appointed and elected officials in legislative and regulatory change; staffing high-level committees; drafting policy briefs, articles, and presentations; conducting policy-relevant research; developing proposals and administering grants; and managing operations and administrative functions of the Division. Supervised a paid and volunteer staff of nine and oversee a budget of more than $1.7 million.

Worked on all aspects of policy campaigns to improve the health of vulnerable populations. Duties included developing policy analyses and proposals, staffing coalitions and working groups, conducting outreach to appointed and elected officials, and designing and implementing policy-relevant research.

Managed all aspects of 4 National Institutes of Health research grants, including an observational cohort study examining the connections between HIV, HCV and alcohol dependence and a randomized controlled trial evaluating the effectiveness of a behavioral intervention to improve adherence to HIV medications.

Designed, implemented and maintained data collection system for evaluation of the Neighborhood Mobilization Project, a peer-driven HIV prevention intervention.
